HERMAperfectCut product range now enhanced by transparent films

Label printers are clearly impressed by the superior converting properties together with undiminished adhesive performance. HERMAperfectCut adhesive material, produced with innovative multi-layer technology, has captured a substantial share of demand within just a few months. The recently introduced range already makes up one-fifth of HERMA's total white film sales volume. Against this background, the Filderstadt company is making further additions to its product portfolio. Since September 1st, it has been offering three HERMAperfectCut transparent films alongside the white lines. The new range, which includes products with a special surface treatment for enhanced printability, are two glossy PE films and one PP variant. The complete HERMAperfectCut collection therefore encompasses six different qualities. In view of the tremendous market success, HERMA managing director Dr. Thomas Baumgärtner has indicated that more new products based on HERMAperfect technology are already on the drawing board.

No more compromises
Its unparalleled combination of exceptional converting and adhesive properties puts HERMAperfectCut in a unique position in the marketplace. The customary compromises accepted by users in the past have been banished. The new adhesive material reduces die-cutter wear during label production, improves convertibility and die-cutting results, and thus enhances machine performance. The more complex and irregular the shape of the die-cut label, the more telling the advantages. Cosmetics and body care products are consequently a typical area of application. With HERMAperfectCut, both the tack and the peel adhesion of the proven adhesive material remain high regardless of the optimised converting properties. The product benefits are attributable to the proven dispersion adhesive 62X being applied for the first time in conjunction with a new, specially developed second layer. HERMA is currently the only adhesive material producer worldwide that uses a multi-layer coating procedure for commercial purposes on a large scale.

In the 2009 financial year, the HERMA group generated sales of around €200m with almost 800 employees in three divisions – self-adhesive materials, labels and machines. The export ratio was around 53 %.
