Six benefits inside

The original book cover now welded, not glued / No sticking to the book, no dirty edges / New second sleeve for tight fit – adhesive strips no longer required
Compared with conventional products, six additional benefits are now harnessed inside the red edging of the new HERMA book covers. The covers are entirely adhesive-free, hard-wearing, free from plasticizers, fully recyclable, easy to use thanks to the second sleeve, and available for all customary book formats. In relaunching its book cover range, HERMA has implemented many of the wishes expressed by parents, teachers and pupils in extensive consultations and product tests. The main priority was to afford the best possible protection to the edges of the book.
Welded, not glued
To maximise protection, the hallmark of the original book cover – the red edge – is now ultrasonically welded. This solution makes the seam stronger and the book cover more practical. Since the new design dispenses with adhesive entirely, the cover does not stick to the book, and dirty edges are a thing of the past. In addition, the cover now attaches to the book without either adhesive or adhesive strips. As before, the cover of the book slides inside the left sleeve, but a new second sleeve on the right now accommodates the back of the book. The book is securely seated inside the protective cover, which is attached very quickly and easily because cutting to size is not necessary. No harmful substances and environment-friendly As with the former cover, the film itself does not contain any harmful plasticizers because it is made of strong polypropylene. As a consequence, the book cover is fully recyclable after use. HERMA managing director Sven Schneller explains, "The new book cover satisfies consumers' increased demands in every respect. It is a high-quality product that does without adhesives, is kind to the environment and is not a health hazard in any way." He continues, "Given that quality is more important than price in the school segment, these covers enable stationery and office suppliers that focus on first-rate branded products to stand out from discounters. HERMA book covers are an outstanding product. Not without reason, several hundred million units have been sold already."
From spring 2011, all the HERMA book cover formats will be available in the new design.
