HERMA ISO 9001 certification for quality management
HERMA is certified by TÜV SÜD for the development, manufacture and sale of self-adhesive material, labels and labelling machines in accordance with ISO 9001. The ISO 9001 quality management standard is the most widespread and important standard in quality management nationally and internationally. It forms the basis for the continuous improvement of the company's quality management system. .
HERMA ISO 50001 certification for energy management
The certification body of TÜV SÜD also certifies that HERMA's Filderstadt and Deizisau sites satisfy all requirements for the ISO certification in the development, manufacture and sale of self-adhesive materials, labels and labelling machines in accordance with ISO 50001. HERMA has successfully introduced its energy management system; this was confirmed by a TÜV audit.
Certification for environmental management ISO 14001
HERMA has been certified by TÜV SÜD in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 for the development, manufacture and distribution of self-adhesive materials, labels and labelling machines. This internationally recognised standard for environmental management systems requires a systematic approach to reducing environmental impact. With this certification, HERMA commits to integrating environmental considerations into all business processes, using resources efficiently and ensuring the continuous improvement of its environmental performance.

EcoVadis – award for corporate social responsibility

Since February 2022, we have been a member of the world's largest sustainability initiative:
the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC).
Through this we have committed ourselves to responsible business conduct in accordance with the ten UNGC principles and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These goals also play an important part in the development of HERMA’s sustainability strategy. Companies in the UNGC submit annual reports on their progress in implementing these principles in the areas of human rights, labour standards, environmental protection and combatting corruption.

FSC™ - certification system for forest management
HERMA is a recipient of the FSC™ seal for adhesive material and labels (FSC-C110972). The Forest Stewardship Council is an international certification system for forest management. It is committed to the protection and preservation of forests. Ten globally valid principles guarantee that wood and paper products with the FSC™ seal come from responsibly managed forests. Make sure that the products you buy are FSC™-certified.

REACH Regulation for the prevention of harmful and safety-critical substances
To avoid harmful ingredients and substances, HERMA promotes alternative methods for determining the harmful effects of substances through the REACH regulation. This reduces the number of animal tests and actively supports the regulations for the approval and restrictions of chemicals. Nevertheless, protecting people and the environment from the hazards of chemical substances is always at the forefront of HERMA’s daily business practices.

Cycle4green – Recycling of release liner
Cycle4green is a Finnish organisation that uses a specific process to recycle release liner that is no longer needed in adhesive material production. HERMA has been recycling surplus release liner for many years now. Through this participation, we have recycled around 200 tonnes of liner and reduced our CO2 emissions.

GoGreen certification for climate-neutral shipping
We also participate in the Deutsche Post GOGREEN initiative for carbon-neutral shipping. HERMA thus saves around 9,000 tonnes of CO2 every year, and supports selected and registered climate protection projects all over the world at the same time. These projects include reforestation in Panama and Uganda, as well as water purifiers and well rehabilitation.

Noventiz certification – a take-back system for transport and sales packaging
HERMA participates in the Noventiz GmbH take-back system for transport and sales packaging, ensuring correct take-back and recycling procedures and reducing CO2 emissions.

EUTR – the European Union Timber Regulation
The European Union Timber Regulation (EUTR) actively supports measures aimed at combating illegal timber procurement. HERMA affirms its knowledge of the obligations laid down in this regulation and fulfils them with due care within the scope of its activities.
