Application and use
The pressure-sensitive adhesive 62Q has been specially developed for direct food labelling. In addition, Adhesive 62Q can also be used on compostable packaging materials. Slight condensation on the packaging film should not present a problem.
The pressure-sensitive adhesive 62Q in combination with the label materials HERMAextracoat (242) and HERMAtherm Bio (909) has been certified as compostable materials for home and garden composting (2021-2) by DIN CERTCO GmbH according to NF T51-800:2015. The certificates are valid until 31.01.2029.
Processing
The die-cutting properties are good on all conventional machines.
Storage conditions and shelf life
Storing at a temperature of 20 ± 5 °C, a relative humidity of 45 ± 5 % and a dark storage is recommended. Moisture, heat and direct sunlight have to be avoided.
Regulations concerning contact with food
All ingredients of the pressure sensitive adhesive 62Q comply with the recommendations BfR XIV or FDA 21 CFR 175.105 (Adhesives).
The pressure-sensitive adhesive 62Q can be safely used for the back coating of labels for the labelling of foodstuffs for storage at room temperature and below. It may be used in direct contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuffs that can be assigned a correction factor of at least 2 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 (Declaration of no objection valid until 16.01.2027).
