Secure closure with a semi-transparent look – paper labels can replace film closure labels in many applications. Once again, HERMA is offering a recycling-friendly solution in line with the new EU Packaging Regulation (PPWR) and the requirement for ‘Design for Recycling’.
Until now, transparent or semi-transparent films have been the main choice for closure labels, even on paper or cardboard packaging. This is because they are inconspicuous and give some packaging a particularly elegant appearance.
Completely paper-based closure solution – completely recyclable
Sealing labels made of semi-transparent special paper now offer exactly these advantages. This allows for completely paper-based sealing labelling – without compromising on appearance, functionality or product safety. This means that paper or cardboard packaging can be sealed with paper labels made from the same material, and the packaging with the label can later be disposed of together in the paper recycling without any concerns – a clear advantage in view of the upcoming PPWR.
The semi-transparent look also ensures that the labels remain visually discreet. When affixed, they are almost invisible.
Responsible use of raw materials
The pulp used for the closure label paper comes from FSC®-certified forestry operations and other controlled sources. The label material thus meets important requirements for responsible raw material extraction. The adhesive is a real all-rounder: ideally suited for rough and curved surfaces, it adheres to paper and cardboard as well as plastic surfaces and packaging films. Thanks to its good ageing, heat and light resistance, it is ideal for closure labels.
A practical solution that meets high product safety standards while contributing to greater sustainability.
