  • What is a logistics label?

    Logistics labels are used to clearly label and identify goods in cartons, on pallets or in other transport containers. The logistics label ensures that the container can be clearly tracked and managed throughout the entire logistics process, from storage to dispatch.

  • What is important for a transport label?

    A transport label must ensure that containers, cartons and pallets can be properly labelled and transported efficiently. This includes the use of a label material that matches the process and container, an easily legible, smudge-proof print, clear and unambiguous labelling and compliance with standards such as GS1 labelling.

  • What is GS1 Labelling?

    GS1 labelling (GS1 barcode) is a globally valid standard. It is used for the unique labelling and identification of products and logistics units for tracking along the supply chain.
    Different machine-readable barcodes are used, depending on the task: 
    GS1-128 Barcode, for shipping labels and transport containers 
    GS1 DataMatrix, for high information density 

    A distinction is made between GS1 identification numbers: 
    GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) for product labelling 
    SSCC (Serial Shipping Container Code) for shipping containers, e.g. pallets 
    GLN (Global Location Number) for identifying locations

    A dangerous goods transport label, also known as a hazard label, indicates the dangers that arise during the transport of dangerous goods. In the event of an accident on the road or at sea, for example, these labels inform everyone involved about the nature of the hazard so that they can react appropriately.
