Self-adhesive film labels for extreme conditions

Temperature-resistant from -40 °C to +150 °C, oil- and dirt-repellent, extremely water-resistant, with ageing-resistant adhesive and much more: To perform well under extreme conditions, industrial labels must have outstanding properties.

For demanding applications in manufacturing, trade and logistics, HERMA offers sheets of hard-wearing labels made of stretchable polyethylene (PE) and with extremely strong adhesives. These film labels even adhere securely to dusty, rough, moist, warm or cold surfaces, both indoors and outdoors. The highly flexible and stretchable material even fits around curved surfaces.

They are ideal for use with chemicals, for example for labelling hazardous substances and dangerous goods. HERMA also offers orange self-adhesive A3 film labels, pre-printed with a black border, for creating warning signs for shipping dangerous goods. The necessary data can be added with a laser printer.

Printable with commercially available laser printers

What makes HERMA PE film labels so unique? They have a special surface that can be printed with commercially available monochrome and colour laser printers. When a sheet passes through the printer, the toner fuses with the plastic layer on the label; basically, it is burnt into the surface. With an appropriate toner is used, the printed impression is waterproof. The inks of the orange and black pre-printed warning signs are saltwater-resistant as per British Standard 5609, Section 3. These warning signs can be printed on A3 film labels; standard A4 film labels come with one, two or three labels per sheet for printing by a laser printer in black or colour as required.

Information on use
  1. Follow the recommendations of the machine manufacturer (e.g. insert sheets individually or by means of the paper cassette).
  2. Sheets of labels should be used only once. Sheets from which some labels have been removed may cause problems if passed through the machine a second time.
  3. If only a portion of the pack is used, replace the rest in the pack. Ideal storage conditions: room temperature approx. 20°C, relative humidity 50%. Avoid pronounced fluctuations in these conditions.
  4. With laser printing we recommend the use of the “thick paper”, “heavy materials” or “labels” option (or equivalent) in the print driver settings or at the printer control panel.
