Labelling hazardous goods at Symrise

Safely shipping fragrant solutions

Virtually everybody smells and tastes the products of this company every day – but scarcely anyone has heard of it. And yet Symrise, headquartered in Holzminden, is one of the world’s leading suppliers of fragrances and flavours. It has around 30,000 products in its portfolio, most of them based on natural raw ingredients. Its fragrances and flavours, cosmetic raw and active ingredients as well as functional ingredients are key components of numerous consumer goods.

Manufacturers of perfumes, deodorants, detergents, potato chips, chewing gum, chocolate and many other products trust Symrise’s specialists to detect trends early and develop solutions that will delight consumers.

Symrise sends its products to customers in every climate zone on earth: Egypt, Brazil, China, South Africa, Malaysia and Mexico, to name some examples.

“When we’re labelling hazardous goods, top-quality labels are absolutely crucial. That’s the only way to ensure smooth shipping by all means of transport all over the world,” says Symrise’s Purchasing manager.

That’s why Symrise uses special labels from HERMA: variable data are simply laser-printed onto labels with pre-printed logos and diamond shapes – whenever they’re needed and for all common container surfaces. They are even saltwater-resistant as per BS 5609.

The highly flexible polyethylene film even fits around curved surfaces. The extremely strong adhesive ensures that the labels stay on the container and do not peel off at the edges – an absolutely vital characteristic when labelling hazardous goods that are going to be transported all over the world.

Sharp laser-printed outlines even for small fonts and barcodes are another advantage offered by this label material.

When safety is a must – chemical labels from HERMA.

Chemical labels must stick firmly to containers of all kinds. Many dangerous goods require certification according to British Standard 5609. We will work with you to develop the labels you need for identification of your chemical products – from the selection of materials all the way to printing.
