Labels in the DIY store for individual colour mixing
Colour identification labels: individually printed with all relevant information for the consumer
The usage scenario: Labelling labels on metal and plastic buckets, for individually mixed paints and varnishes
Individual colour shades as required, in small and large quantities: a special service for the consumer.
From a variety of colours, selected from colour fans or colour charts, individual tints are created in DIY stores or paint shops: from a white base colour, with corresponding quantities of tinting colour, exactly according to customer requirements.
To ensure that this special tint can be reproduced later, for example in the event that the quantity purchased was not sufficient, the paint buckets or paint cans are labelled to show exactly which colour was mixed.
A typical label contains the colour drawing and the colour number (e.g. from the defined colour fan), the type of paint (e.g. acrylic paint), the mixing date, the filling quantity and a barcode.
The label design, i.e. brand, product names, legally required declarations such as filling quantity and ingredients, as well as the required GHS labelling, differ depending on the contents of the paint container.
When mixing in automatic mixing systems, the identification labels are printed to match the machine parameters, either individually or multiple times depending on the number of containers. The colour coding labels are either dispensed by machine or applied by hand after the container is removed from the mixing system.
We are looking for high-quality paper labels on a roll that can be printed using a thermal transfer printer, with sharply contoured print results so that even small fonts and barcodes are permanently legible.
It is also important that the labels adhere particularly well, both to metal cans and to plastic containers and buckets (usually made of HDPE or PE). This is because the contents of the container should still be clearly identifiable even after long periods of storage.
The solution: colour identification labels on a roll, for thermal transfer printing, with strong adhesion
Thermal transfer labels on a roll are particularly suitable for long-lasting individual labelling.
The individual labelling with all product information, plus barcode, date of manufacture or filling date is permanently legible. Depending on requirements, the labels can be made of paper or film.
HERMA thermal transfer labels can be used universally on different surfaces. The wide temperature range (temperatures from -30 to +80 °C), high initial adhesion and secure, very high final adhesion ensure that the labels adhere permanently and reliably to both metal cans and plastic surfaces.
In addition to good printability, reliable processing during printing and labelling is also very important. Our label material is characterised by secure adhesion to the carrier material, while at the same time offering very good dispensing properties in filling systems. This prevents downtime due to faults.
We manufacture your roll labels according to your specifications to suit your printing system/printer type. As a rule, the rolls have a core diameter of 76.2 mm; the roll diameter is also matched to the printer type.
The label size and shape are based on your specifications - we produce roll labels in your desired size. Ideally, the label size can be selected so that it fits on different can sizes and bucket sizes equally well, which has an advantageous effect on your labelling stock-keeping and disposition. One label - for all cases!
What is important for identification labels for colour tints?
- Easy-to-read labels that stick permanently to the containers: because the information they contain is required for any reordering, even after a long period of time.
- Flexible use: adhere to metal cans as well as plastic containers, in a wide temperature range
- Easy handling: the labels can be applied manually or dispensed by machine
- Consistent print quality: the thermal transfer colour particles are securely anchored to the label paper or label film
- Sharp contour printing - just as important for small fonts as for optimum barcode legibility at the checkout
