Oval and round plastic buckets with lids are very often used for filling a wide variety of paints, e.g. for emulsion wall paints, silicate paints, lime paints, latex paints, insulating and barrier paints, etc.

These polypropylene buckets are available in different sizes, usually in white, with a metal or plastic handle.

The advantage of these universal buckets is that they can be procured particularly economically in large quantities. The label, in many different print designs depending on the contents of the coloured bucket, can also be produced in the desired, often small and medium runs, at economical conditions. Together, this creates an economical and particularly flexible packaging solution.

The material of the universal buckets is usually polypropylene, a particularly robust plastic without plasticisers, which is ideal for recycling. There are different sizes, e.g. for filling quantities of 5, 15 or 18 litres. The area available for labelling differs accordingly.

All-round labelling of the bucket body is required. This curved surface of the bucket requires particularly flexible labelling materials, which must also be particularly robust and adhere extremely well.

Ideally, the labels should be made of polypropylene film so that the emptied container can be recycled according to type.

The lid often also carries an additional identification label with the current production data, such as the lot number. The label design, i.e. brand, product names, legally prescribed declarations such as filling quantity and ingredients, as well as the required GHS labelling, differ depending on the contents of the paint bucket.

The objective for this application is the economical procurement of different label layouts, even in small and medium runs. Robust labels that are resistant to water and chemicals (e.g. solvents) are required.

The adhesive plays an important role in the long-lasting labelling of the paint bucket. We use polyethylene film with a permanent acrylic adhesive that is characterised by high initial and final adhesion. This also enables machine labelling in automated filling systems at high speed. The labels adhere reliably to smooth and rough surfaces of the paint buckets.

The use of PE film labels on the PE buckets enables single-variety recycling when the paint container is empty. Depending on the print image and brand character, you can choose between white matt and glossy polyethylene films.

Our modern digital printing machines produce your roll labels in small and medium runs: this means that small and medium runs can be produced economically even with a large variety of types due to different print designs. For use on paint buckets with contents that require labelling (GHS Regulation), film labels are available that meet the requirements for seawater resistance in accordance with BS5609 Section 2.

The high-quality PE film labels are suitable for the subsequent printing of daily production dates using thermal transfer printing, for example with lot number, colour series, date of manufacture, expiry date and filling quantity. Even with barcodes and small fonts in the best print quality.

The label size and shape are based on your specifications - we produce roll labels in your desired size. Ideally, the label size can be selected so that it fits different bucket sizes equally, which has a favourable effect on the combination possibilities of different print images in one order.
