Product and price labelling in DIY stores

In this application, the labels are printed using thermal transfer printing. When stocking shelves with different variants of a product, the label is used to differentiate between the different product types, e.g. screws in blister packs or clips.

It is important for the application that the label adheres particularly securely to the metal or plastic flags and that it is easy to apply.

It is also important that the labels are adapted to the special shape of the label carrier and that the front and back of the label carrier can be easily labelled.

For this application, we choose labelling material that offers particularly good adhesion to the metal and plastic surfaces of the price tags. This ensures that the product and price information is permanently visible on the shelf.

The special something about this label lies in its shape: A little narrower in width than the label flag, bevelled on the right and left sides so that the label cannot peel off at the edge. 

And: with a crease aid in the form of a perforation so that the label can be stuck onto the front and back of the label flag in the exact position.

It is particularly important that the crease aid is nevertheless stable so that the front and back of the label remain together.

The high-quality HERMA label material with the best contrast ensures that the thermal transfer print remains legible for a long time. This is particularly important for small fonts and barcodes.

In addition to good printability, trouble-free processing is also important when printing price labels. Our label material is characterised by secure adhesion to the backing material, for trouble-free printer throughput without self-dispensing effects.

The label shape and design of the folding aid is precisely matched to the shape of the price tags used so that the labels do not come off later on the shelf.

The labelling on the roll (sleeve, roll length, maximum outer diameter, etc.) is produced according to your specifications, depending on your in-house printing system.

Small drawers, e.g. with different screws, usually have a labelling area on the handle for product and price information. Here too, it is important to select the label size and the label material in such a way that the label and its information remain permanently legible even if the small "drawer" is opened several times.

For this application, thermal transfer labels made of film are usually used, which withstand the multiple skin contact when the shelf compartment is opened better than a paper label.

Another label with long-term use on the transparent drawer bears the shelf number - essential for replenishment and stocktaking.
